Safety recalls

Motorcycle safety recalls by brand

A recall is the one bike problem no tool roll fixes: the parts and the labour are free at a dealer, but only if you know the campaign exists. This tracks 263 motorcycle and scooter campaigns filed with NHTSA for model years 20152027, split by brand. Last synced 10 August 2026.

Counts are per campaign, not per bike. A campaign usually covers a handful of model years, so a brand with a long list is often one that sells more models in the US rather than one that builds worse bikes.

Check your own bike first

  • — A VIN check is the only answer that applies to your machine. Run yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls (US) or the Transport Canada recalls database (Canada).
  • — Recall work is free regardless of the bike's age or how many owners it has had, and an unfinished campaign follows the VIN, not the buyer.
  • — Do it before a long trip, not after. A brake or fuel-line campaign is a dealer job, and dealers are thin on the ground once you are three days from home.

Where this data comes from

Every campaign on these pages is pulled straight from the NHTSA recalls API and shown with the manufacturer's own wording for the defect, the consequence and the remedy. Nothing here is edited or ranked by us. Because NHTSA only covers machines sold in the United States, brands that do not sell there show an empty page — that is an absence of US filings, not proof of a fault-free bike.
