- — DR650 / DR-Z400 are tube-type; V-Strom cast wheels are tubeless — the tire kit differs completely.
- — Carburettor models: a spare plug and the ability to drain a float bowl are worth more than electronics tools.

Reversible screwdriver — JIS/Phillips + flat
Carb bowls, clamps, bodywork and inspection covers. On Japanese bikes the cross-head screws are JIS, not Phillips — a Phillips driver cams out and rounds them off.
